there's always time for home improvement

Who cares about studying when there's home decorating to be done?

Not me!

I finally got around to fixing up my living room. It took me several weeks to get my butt up to Spokane Valley to Target to buy my couch cover, and then of course I bought a couple candles and some throw pillows and jazzed up the room.

Before:

After:

Couch cover immediately class up the room.

In LOVE with throw pillows. Very adult decor.

Those candles were such a find :) Yay Target!

All in all I think everything came together pretty nicely.

I still want to change out the valences on the two side windows and add a throw blanket to the couch.

I am very happy with the purple/green combination though!

Fall?

Is that you?

I woke up this morning, put on my favorite pair of sweatpants and my grizzly center fleece. Brewed a cup of coffee and am about to buckle down into studying.

It just feels oddly like...fall.

Yesterday...

I had my first pumpkin spiced latte of the season :)

It feels like fall, and I am LOVING it!

Though I am fairly sure there is a bit of summer still hanging around.

Summer, we had a good run. Nay, a great run.

But give fall some space.

even though it's only wednesday.

I wanted needed to share this song with y'all.

It just makes me feel so happy.



It also makes me think of these amazing women and our amazing nights out!!

...to be excited for Halloween?

no. never.

I really cannot explain where my deep deep love of Halloween comes from.

Maybe it's:

1. My dramatic side LOVING the creative outlet of getting to act like a whole different person for a whole night?

2. My fondness deep affection for my fall wardrobe?

3. The taste of pumpkin spiced lattes and all other pumpkin products?

4. Wonderful, delightful childhood memories associated with this holiday?

5. My irrational love of scary, creepy, bone chilling movies?

Or maybe it is a little bit of all of that.

But today I was talking with a friend about ScaryMovie Season and Halloween costumes and I started to get ever so excited, I almost couldn't sit still. This summer has been lasting far too long in my opinion and I am ready to break out the long jeans, cardigans, and of course my boots!

I am also ready to put into action some exciting home decorating ideas!

Pumpkins:

These should be easy! I am already getting giddy at the thought of my next visit to Michael's!!

Oh how I wish I had a fireplace to fill with pumpkins, but I am determined to fill my house with them anyway :)
