I was fortunate enough to host my first party of vet school this weekend.

and it was a theme I always wanted to attend before so that's a bonus!

I know I've been off the grid a bit, other than checking in every sunday with my "perfect bucket list".

I'll be honest, my life has been swallowing me a bit and I'm struggling to find the joy.

I surely have joyful moments, but sometimes I struggle to just be joyful.

hopefully vacation helps solve that problem a bit.

I have a couple of Christmas crafts that I'm SUPER excited about.

I am also excited about: Hornsby's hard cider, home-made chicken pot pie, the new show "Revenge", and time I will shortly be spending with family and friends.

oh and the fact that the Packers are currently 10-0!

crafting is my middle name

Today {minus a miserable run-in} was quite pleasant.

Clear blue skies, crisp fall weather, and...HALLOWEEN CRAFTING!

L and I got together today to make a few halloween crafts.

{It's amazing to have a friend who not only shares my love of halloween, but also my love of crafting}

So our first project was based off of this:

So in order to achieve these gems we bought:

styrofoam cones (2 sizes)

yarn: yellow, burnt orange, white

and

we used a hot glue gun

It really was quite simple:

1) Mark off the boundaries for each color (we had the middle/orange part be slightly thinner than the white and yellow portions)

2) Hot glue the yarn to the styrofoam (I found that the best way to get the yarn to stay on the edges of the cone was to hot glue all the way around, but the parts glued to the middle of the cone only required a little bit of glue)

3) Wrap the yarn around and around...and around

4) Hot glue the end of the yarn at the stopping point for that color.

getting crafty.

Recently I have become obsessed with pinterest.com

It's so delightful :)

So while I was "pinning" I found this wreath:

So I decided to make one of my own.

I've not had much experience being very crafty, but I'm quite proud of this one!

It was so super easy. First weaved the flowers and feathers through the wreath to my choice. Then I painted a white "C" (purchased at Michael's) green and using a hot glue gun attached it to the wreath.

Presto! A customized, all-year wreath! So simple!
